As of recent im meeting more and more Vegan,vegetarian and Straight Edge people. Its pretty cool.
Im not vegan or even vegetarian but i respect the choices.
One thing ive recently realised is that i hate alot of the preaching attitudes thrown upon others by militant seeming vegans,vegetarian,straight edge people.
Save the world, save animals, save yourself blah blah blah.
I am straight edge but dont go round preaching to people about it, because its a general preference and most people dont understand it let alone embrace it.
Its kinda hypocritical of me because i dont really preach as such but do have convosations with people about how smoking and stuff is a bad choice (whats good about smoking?)....but whatever,fuck it.
Yes, preach if you have stuck at something for years and know what your talking about but recently ive seen a number of edge kids actin all "DONT TALK TO ME IF YOUR NOT DRUG FREE"......stupid!
Alot of kids actin that way are most probably putting up a front anyway and will change it to
"ALCAHOL IS MY LIFE!" or something equally dumb.
for example a guy/KID that goes to local shows (occasionaly) has a huge edge chestpiece but has a huge picture of jager on his myspace page and is at shows with a pint acting all full of himself.
Fair enough if he stuck to it for years previously, but he didnt.
I know what im saying has kinda gone away from the fact i dont like preaching but this is my blog and its my rules so suck it.
From personal experience i know that if your straight edge and walking around preaching thinking your ultimate and that people have to get below you to kiss your drug free shoes, that in this country your not gonna have a lot of friends.

No Rockstars in Hardcore?
Oh yes there is.
Its a kick in the nuts to think really.
Most real hardcore bands dont really make much profit if anything at all, they tour nonstop and play the smallest shittest venues to sometimes shitty crowds, sleep in a van and eat what they can. Its one of those more niche music genre's that will never make them chart topping money makers, more for the fun and the fans.
Recently after seeing Madball play the Whiterabbit in plymouth (a real good venue) i found out that they charged the promoter over a couple of grand, i cant remember how much exactly but i know that it was alot.
Also on a seperate occasion after seeing Sick Of It All play the Whiterabbit i was really let down by the fact that they didnt even come out to meet the fans after, they merely stayed backstage and then left in there tourbus.
Even Agnostic Front ,after arriving at the venue late due to getting lost on the way & Vinnie Stigma being really ill and looking it....they managed to play an awesome energetic set and then meet the fans after.
So there really is no need for these bands to act like old grumpy money hungry pricks.

People First
I am not a vegetarian nor a Vegan yet can understand the many reasons why people would be.
But one thing that kind of makes ZERO sense to me is when you get people that are real anti-animal cruelty ie. anti meat, anti fur,anti fox hunting, anti testing etc etc......yet they are pro drugs, pro smoking, pro binge drinking etc.
How does it make sense to be overly concerned about animals yet treat your life like a toilet?
Im anti-animal cruelty and stuff apart from the fact i eat meat of course but all in all id favour my own life over a pig, cow,sheep,chicken etc.(How can you be anti-animal cruelty whilst eating meat i hear you say?...Well, just because i enjoy chowing down on a nice piece of cow doesnt mean i take great satisfaction in the animals potential pain & misery does it.)
I dont understand why people want to pay to pollute themselves and the world with smoking, long for friday night so that they can pay to sick their guts out, pay for sketchy drugs that could of been cut with anything or any other stupid cheap temporary high.
Im drug free (not really for any other reason more than morals) so obviously im gonna seem abit more bias than the usual social drinking kinda guy, but still i feel that it is a fair point and that people need to take a look at their values.
Value your life, kos you only get one.

Officialy the worst summer ever!

Invest in Twin Peaks...
Ok, so ive just finished watching all of Twin Peaks (excluding the movie).
Its an addictive show and keeps getting better and then all of a sudden you got a hugely shit ending.
Not just slightly shit, BULLSHIT!
I now feel cheated of the 30 odd hours ive invested into this show.
Lynch is a sucker!
hopefully the movie is better than the ending.

I went to Ripcurl Boardmasters 2008...
...and what a waste of time and money it turned out to be!
a typical cornish summer day....full on rain, freezing cold bloody rain!
my coat aparently isnt waterproof at all so i was soaked through all my clothes.
stood up for 9 hours freezing to death waiting for the 4 or 5 bands i paid 30 quid to see.
half way through the day the rains so bad they decide to give a "30 minute break"
which turns into an hour and a half break to fix up the stage....apparently they werent ready for these conditions even though cornwall really isnt sunny cornwall its 80% shit 20% sunny cornwall.
so...2 bands to the end and we decide "fuck this, lets goooo!"
ive just been told that gallows....the headlining band.....played 4 songs.
which must be due to the hour and a half delay earlier on.
so basicly its a huge waste of money and a huge let down.
some advice....never goto it,or any boardmasters things because they suck.
best part about my day was getting into a warm car,warm clothes and warm mcdonalds meats. Cheers treggs.
